The book “Personal Security” authored by the Capt Thomas A Tiergzal; an accomplished Military Officer of the Defence Intelligence (DI) Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has been launched at the Burma Hall in Accra on 30 September, 2017.
The 79 page book provides guidance on how to ensure personal security in many aspects of life as well as offer a firsthand account on how to ensure one’s personal security and keeping the environment clean.
Speaking at the launch, the Guest of Honour and Co-chair of the function; Director of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, Col Eric Aggrey-Quarshie, said the book is a piece that gives a holistic interpretation of personal security. He therefore recommended the book to the general public to ensure their personal security both at home and their work places. He also advised personnel of GAF to inculcate the habit of writing and took the initiative by buying the first copy of the book.
A lecturer and staff of the Ministry of Information, Mr Suleman Jotie who reviewed the book said, the book came into reality as a result of hard work, research and the personal experience of Capt TA Tiergzal on the field as a professional soldier. He commended the author for finding time aside family pressure and other engagements to complete the entire book.
He indicated that the book had insights on the protection of executive, keeping the surrounding clean, prevention of crime and several other personal security related issues.
Launching the book, the author stated that he got his writing inspiration way back in Secondary School. He added it was better to leave a legacy on the security of humanity than die with the wealth of knowledge he acquired over the years. He also hinted of his plans of launching two other books in the near future.
