Sunda Investment Ghana Company Limited, in collaboration with Twyford Company Limited, has donated assorted products of their company to the 37 Military Hospital at the Fore Court of the hospital’s Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday October 10, 2017.
The presentation, led by a sports icon and a business man, Mr Herbert Mensah, was made to the facility for the victims who sustained various degrees of injuries during the Gas and Fuel explosion which occurred on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Atomic Junction near Madina in Accra.
The items included two hundred and forty packets (240) of Kleesoft Toilet Roll, three hundred (300) packets of Faskit Mosquito Coil, fifty (50) buckets of Kleesoft washing powder, five hundred (500) pieces of multi-purpose soap and two hundred and forty (240) pieces of refreshing hand wash soap.
The Chief Executive Officer of Sunda Investment Company Limited, Mr Isaac Hu said it was his hope that the government and the authorities concerned with gas and fuel operation in the country will put in the necessary measures to avert such occurrences in the future.
The Commanding Officer of the hospital, Col Micheal Akwasi Yeboah Agyapong on receiving the items on behalf of the hospital and the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Obed Boamah Akwa, thanked them for the kind gesture and appealed to individuals and corporate bodies to emulate.
In a related development, Dr Mrs Anankrah, a former Dermatologist and wife of the late Dr Anankrah donated a 13.0kg washing machine, 43 inches Flat Screen Television and Set of Bed Sheets to the Nkrumah Ward also known as the Children’s Ward of the hospital.
Subsequently officials of the National Disaster and Management Organization (NADMO) led by Mr Evans Anakwah also presented some drugs to the facility to aid in the treatment of the victims.
Some senior officers were present during the presentation.
