A 7-member delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from the Czech Republic, Mr Martin Tlapa called on the Defence Minister, Hon Dominic Nitiwul at The Square.
The aim of the visit was to deepen and strengthen the existing ties and cooperation between Ghana and the Czech Republic as well as explore areas of security which will inure to the benefit of the two countries.
Hon Dominic Nitiwul hinted that the aim and vision of the Ministry of Defence, is to make Ghana the best among its neighbouring countries, where peace and unity will be its hallmark.
He indicated that, irrespective of the terrorism threats around the Sahel Region, efforts are being put in place by the Government to strengthen security at the country’s borders to protect its citizens. He said that, with the support from the European Union’s intelligence body, the country will be able to combat terrorism.
Mr Martin Tlapa said, Ghana is an epitome of peace, which must be emulated by other democratic African countries. He added that, the government of the Czech Republic is looking forward to a long-lasting relationship with Ghana.
