Vice President Inaugurates Joint Venture Companies Under DIHOC

An inaugural ceremony of the Joint Venture Companies under the Defence Industries Holding Company Limited (DIHOC), took place at the Burma Hall, Burma Camp.
The purpose of the ceremony was to inaugurate Joint Venture Companies under DIHOC, commissioning of construction equipment and breaking ground for the construction of industrial development projects.
The Guest of Honour for the ceremony, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Chairman of the Armed Forces Council, His Excellency, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, in his address, applauded the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), on the occasion to celebrate this laudable initiative and its effort in protecting the territorial integrity and the general peace of the country.
He hinted that GAF and all other security services depended mainly on the import of security hardware and equipment for their operations, therefore the joint venture between private entities and GAF presents a beautiful synergy in driving the industrialization of Ghana. He urged more private entities to go into such collaborations with GAF to develop a diversity of production value chains that would benefit all.

the Joint Venture Companies

The Deputy Defence Minister, Hon Kofi AmankwaManu, who is the Board Chairman of DIHOC expressed delight in ensuring the military industrial complex is established to actively embark on industrial development projects to enhance national socio-economic development.
He added that this will not only ensure that the logistics needs of GAF are met but also enhance the internally generated funds capacity of GAF as well as an employment avenue for retired service personnel. He also appealed to all stakeholders for their support.
The Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama said that, the establishment of DIHOC is in line with Article 210 (3) of the 1992 Constitution which gives credibility to GAF to indulge in developmental projects in the country. He added that GAF aims to provide all logistic equipment to personnel to aid in their field of operations.
