The Minister for Defence, Hon Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah held a meeting with the Directors of the Ministry at The Square to familiarize himself with the leadership team and discuss collaborative efforts to advance the Ministry’s agenda. Hon Dr Omane Boamah affirmed his commitment to fostering a harmonious working relationship with the Directors in pursuit of national security objectives. He emphasised government’s unwavering support for both military and civilian staff, particularly through initiatives aimed at improving pension schemes and welfare programmes.

The Minister further underscored the need for innovative strategies to encourage private sector contributions, particularly through the Poppy Appeal Fund to support the construction of additional healthcare facilities for Veterans.

On behalf of the Ministry’s Directors, the Chief Director, Mr Lawoetey Tettey, warmly welcomed the Minister, expressing their collective enthusiasm and readiness to support his vision for the Ministry.
