Brief Profile of Hon Ernest Brogya Genfi

Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi is a marketing consultant and law graduate with expertise in strategic marketing, public administration, and political communications.

He holds a Master of Arts in Marketing Strategy from the University of Ghana, Legon; a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Wisconsin International University College, Accra; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He also earned a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies from the Institute of Commercial Studies (ICM), UK, and is a Licentiate Member of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants, Ghana.

Born to Mr. Kwaku Brogya Genfi (deceased) and Madam Gladys Gyekye of the Ashanti Region, he received his secondary education at Kumasi Academy and pursued a Diploma in Business Studies at Kumasi Technical University.

Professionally, Hon. Brogya Genfi has served as Branch Head of Marketing at National Trust Holding Company (NTHC) Limited and as Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council under the Information Services Department.

As Board Chairman of Defence Industries Holding Company (DIHOC), wholly owned by the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence, he has spearheaded several self-sustaining projects, with emphasis on defence industries and agribusiness.

In March 2025, he was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to serve as Deputy Minister for Defence of the Republic of Ghana, a role in which he continues to assist in championing the welfare of the Armed Forces, Veterans and strengthen Ghana’s defence sector.

Politically, he has held key positions in the National Democratic Congress, including Deputy National Director for Special Duties and Regional Youth Organiser in the Ashanti Region. In 2016, he contested for Parliament in the Suame Constituency.

Hon. Brogya Genfi is passionate about youth participation in governance and politics. He is also an alumnus of the United States International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP).

He is married and blessed with children.
