The then Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah together with the Service Chiefs paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Minister for Defence, Hon Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah at The Square.
The visit was to officially congratulate him on his appointment and to reaffirm their commitment to working collaboratively with his administration to enhance national security.
General Oppong-Peprah, on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the Defence Civilian Staff, extended his best wishes to the Minister and assured him of the unwavering dedication of the military leadership. He reiterated their readiness to support his vision and to work assiduously to strengthen the country’s defence and security.
In response, Hon Dr Edward Omane Boamah warmly welcomed the CDS and the Service Chiefs. He assured them of his commitment to addressing key challenges faced by GAF, particularly in the areas of troop accommodation, provision of essential defence equipment, and intelligence support to enhance operational effectiveness. He also commended the Military High Command of GAF for their pivotal role in maintaining national peace and security.
