The Ministry of Defence has organised an orientation for its newly posted civil servants to equip them with a clear understanding of the Ministry’s mandate, operational structures and expected professional standards in Defence administration. The event held at the Ministry was designed to seamlessly integrate the new personnel into the Ministry.

Welcoming the personnel, the Human Resource Director, Madam Comfort Kyereme, highlighted the significance of their posting to such a critical state institution. In her opening address, she emphasized that the Ministry’s success relies heavily on the quality of its human resource, thus urged them to uphold discipline, integrity and dedication, emphasising the vital role of human resources in achieving the Ministry’s objectives.

To ensure the new personnel are well-equipped for their various assignments, representatives from various departments took turns delivering detailed presentations. The sessions provided a deep dive into departmental functions and specific unit responsibilities, operational procedures and official communication channels, workflow guidelines and internal protocols.

The new team members were cautioned on the importance of maintaining absolute confidentiality and adhering to the Ministry’s established Code of Conduct to uphold the good name of the Ministry. The Deputy Advocate General, Col Fetus Aboagye administered the Oath of Secrecy and Allegiance to the newly posted civil servants.

The orientation concluded with an interactive Q&A session with the Chief Director, Mr Emmanuel Kartey, allowing the new civil servants to seek clarification on civil service procedures, career progression and workplace expectations.
