The family of the late Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has held a solemn Thanksgiving Service at Christ the King Parish in Accra to commemorate the 1st anniversary of his passing.
The service brought together distinguished personalities from the political and public spheres, as well as staff of the Ministry of Defence, traditional leaders, friends and sympathisers who gathered to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of the late Minister.
Among those present were the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon Ernest Brogya Genfi; Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Minister for Education, Hon Haruna Iddrisu; Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah; Minister for Health, Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board, Dr Randy Abbey.
Delivering the homily, Rev. Fr. Ebenezer Akesseh reflected on the late Dr Omane Boamah’s dedicated service to the nation and urged the congregation to uphold values of faith, integrity, selflessness and commitment to the public good.
As part of the service, the bereaved family presented a donation to Christ the King Parish in support of the altar and chaplaincy, as a gesture of appreciation and in keeping with the late Minister’s enduring commitment to faith and service.
The service concluded with prayers for the repose of the soul of Dr Omane Boamah and for strength and comfort for his family, friends and all those who continue to mourn his passing.
